This one-of-a-kind 20x28 inch cyanotype print is created from a large-scale digital negative made from photographs of the hands of my closest loved ones and myself. Using the historic cyanotype process, the image is hand-printed on archival watercolor paper and developed entirely by sunlight, resulting in the rich Prussian blue tones that make cyanotypes so distinctive.
The work explores themes of connection, memory, identity, and touch. Each hand becomes a record of a relationship, transformed through a photographic process that combines contemporary digital techniques with one of the earliest forms of photography.
*Please note: that each cyanotype is a handmade artwork and has been previously exhibited. As a result, prints may show minor signs of handling, exhibition, or storage, including subtle surface marks, slight edge wear, or other small imperfections. These characteristics are consistent with the nature of original hand-printed and exhibited works and do not detract from the overall presentation or integrity of the piece.
