Frequently Asked Questions
Custom Bouquet Cyanotypes are archival photographic artworks made from your flowers using a slow, sunlight-based process. Each piece is created intuitively and cannot be replicated. The following FAQs explain the process, preparation requirements, and timelines so you can move forward with clarity.
What is this service?
This is a custom, made-to-order cyanotype created from your bouquet using an archival photographic process. Pressed flowers are arranged and printed directly onto watercolor paper using sunlight, resulting in a one-of-a-kind photographic artwork. Be sure to review the Terms of Service.
What should I expect from the final artwork?
You can expect an original piece shaped by your flowers, sunlight, and the artist’s intuitive process. Variations in tone, contrast, and composition are inherent to working with organic materials and are part of what makes each artwork unique.
What is the timeline?
This is a slow, organic process influenced by material condition, weather, and the artist’s workload. Creation timelines vary and may take several months from the time flowers are received. Timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.
What types of flowers work best?
Most flowers can be used as long as they can be pressed and flattened. Flowers with thinner petals and open structures allow more light to pass through, creating greater detail and translucency in the final print.
How do I ship my flowers?
Ship the flower press with flowers pressed inside as soon as possible after pressing. Do not remove the flowers from the press before shipping. You are responsible for shipping flowers to the artist.
Are there flowers that don’t work well?
Very thick, woody, or highly dimensional blooms do not press or print as successfully. Flowers that have begun to dry out before pressing may crumble and lose detail.
Will my flower press be returned?
Flower presses will be returned only if a prepaid return shipping label is included with your shipment.
How do I press and prepare my flowers?
Flowers must be pressed promptly after your event—ideally within 24 hours—using an 11 × 15 inch flower press or larger. Flowers do not need to be dried, but they must be fully flattened.

Is this service right for me?
This service is best suited for those who value process-driven, archival work and are comfortable trusting the artist’s creative discretion. It may not be the right fit if you are seeking a fast turnaround or a highly controlled outcome.
