Pressing Instructions For Custom Bouquet Cyanotypes
To achieve the highest quality and detail in your cyanotype, flowers must be pressed correctly and promptly. Freshness is essential to this photographic process.
Order Your Flower Press in Advance, Flower Presses are not Provided by Artist.
You must order your flower press before your scheduled event so flowers can be pressed within 24 hours of the event. Flowers that are not pressed promptly will begin to dry out, crumble, or lose structural integrity and will not press or print well.
Recommended Press Size:
An 11 × 15 inch flower press is required. Larger presses allow for longer stems and greater compositional flexibility.
Purchase a Flower Press Here Flower presses are not provided by the artist.
How to Press Your Flowers:
Important: Three-dimensional blooms, bulky objects, or unflattened botanical material will not be used in the cyanotype process. Flowers that have begun to dry out prior to pressing may crumble and lose detail. The artist is not responsible for damage caused by delays or improper handling.
• Press flowers as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of the event
• Do Not Dry Your Flowers. Flowers should go Fresh into the Press and be flattened.
• Arrange flowers carefully in the press using an artistic eye
• The silhouette created during pressing will closely resemble how the flowers appear in the final print
• Do not stack or overlap. Follow Press Instructions Provided with Purchase.
What to Send:
• Ship the flower press with flowers pressed inside to the artist as soon as possible
• Do not remove flowers from the press before shipping
• Pack securely to prevent shifting during transit
Return of Flower Press:
Flower presses will be returned only if a prepaid return shipping label is included with your shipment. If no return label is provided, the press will not be sent back.
Final Note:
Cyanotype is an archival photographic process that responds to organic material, sunlight, and time. Proper pressing and prompt shipping are essential to achieving the strongest and most detailed results.
